Jordan Rebello, Model & Mama
When I had my daughter Poppy, at 24, I started to feel more connected to my feminine side, wearing more dresses, putting on make up, adding a lip and getting my nails done.
I was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard, which lays just off the coast of Cape cod. I am second generation American Indian, from the Wampanoag Tribe. My father’s family comes from the Azores. I am a real Atlantic island girl. I always felt connected to nature, animals and the love for all things with a hint of natural beauty surrounded by deep green forests and the waters edge.
I had three brothers growing up so I blame them for me being a tomboy. When I had my daughter Poppy, at 24, I started to feel more connected to my feminine side, wearing more dresses, putting on make up, adding a lip and getting my nails done. Nothing beats when I am about to go out and Poppy looks up and stops me in my tracks to tell me how beautiful she thinks I look. So pure and genuine or she’s trying to get dessert. Either way, I’ll take it.
First thing I do when I wake up is drink lemon & water. It’s not just about keeping your appearance up but also your health. It goes side by side. I wash my face every morning and night with a white wash cloth and warm water. No daily face wash. I use Darphin everyday. Once I have a clean face, I start with the Anti-Fatigue Serum, Facial crème and then add the Essential Oil Elixir in rose. After that, I like a dewy glow with gold tints.
I love a nice lip with dark eyes and glowing cheeks. For a casual look I like a nude lip. If I’m feeling fierce then I’ll add a dark red, but for those fun and flirty nights I love a light coral. YSL’s coral lip stain and Glossier’s Generation G in Leo are my favorites.
Most days, I don’t shampoo. I always condition. My curls becomes knots so the more moisture in a conditioner, the easier it is to detangle. I wash my hair every other day. I like a messy curl. I have been on a Briogeo kick. They have great products for thick and curly hair, without the rich fragrance. My curls make up my personality – Energetic, soft and bubbly.
I find myself going months without a workout regimen and it affects my moods and spirit. I hike a lot, but its mostly to clear my head and to find a quite moment. I recently joined a gym again and it’s been nice getting back into it. After I drop Poppy off at school on the off days I like running a few miles, some arm workouts and booty lifts. I am not a big supplement taker but I listen to body when I feel like I need more nutrients.
