CBD Beauty Is Here To Stay

To calm myself before the new Taylor Swift video premiere in 49 minutes, I thought I'd share my discoveries in the calming world of CBD beauty. Urban Outfitter's is embracing the new trend. I remember growing up and shopping in the beauty section at UO. My beauty starter pack included Mario Badescu's Rose water facial spray and this all natural jojoba lotion that is no longer around as far as I know. I saved the rest of my money for the clothes.

CBD is a skin healer. It is anti-inflammatory with antioxidants and anti-aging properties. Because cannabinoid receptors are located throughout the skin, CBD has the capability of interacting with those receptors to encourage homeostasis and healing. As I continue to get super science-y on you, I think its important to understand the ingredients of the products we put on our skin. After all, healthy skin relies on the body’s ability to grow new cells and discard dead ones.

The manipulation of the endocannabinoid system can help regulate the life cycle of our skin cells for more radiant, youthful skin, according to Hora Skin Care. CBD as an antioxidant is even more powerful than Vitamin C, E, A, or omega 3 fatty acids. Crazy! Right!?

Hora's Super Serum hydrates, protects and regenerates skin. CBD is known to control effects of acne as well. I always struggle with some zits here and there. Acne involves the overproduction of sebum and CBD can be used to affect the output of oils in the skin. Specifically, CBD inhibits the lipid production in skin cells, making it an effective preventative for acne. I love you already CBD! CBD can also act as an antibacterial agent. Along with CBD, the serum contains marine collagen, rosehip oil, argan oil, Vitamin A, C & B3, and hyaluronic acid. All ingredients to make skin glow, zit free.

Hora’s Overnight Exfoliating Mask is a serious game changer. I love a mask you can wear overnight. Our skin heals best when we are sleeping, so applying some extra help while in dream world is always ideal. That is why I usually lather my face with serums before bedtime. If you’re looking to get rid of dark spots or acne scars, you can apply this mask up to four times a week, so its a good product to start in an active quest for a more even skin tone. The mask contains not only CBD, but also salicylic acid which dissolves dead skin cells.

Before putting on the mask, CBD can also come into play for the bath. The nourishing bath bomb by Kush Queen looks like a ball of lavender. The combination of lavender and CBD is relaxing and calming. Perfect before hitting the pillow. Follow up with Cannabliss’s Bliss Body Oil to soften skin. The oil can even help soothe a sunburn and prevent peeling. Cannabliss is an organic CBD line and I’m a sucker for organic. I also love a good lip balm. Their Bliss Kiss Balm is ultra hydrating, melting on application. Plus it smells good!

Headaches aren’t cute and they don’t feel cute. It is no surprise CBD could kick your annoying headaches bottom. The CBD Headache Roller by Shea Brand, similar to an essential oil roller is the alternative to Advil. I try to avoid taking pills, so the roller is first in my line of defense when trying to soothe a headache. When applied to the temples, forehead and back of neck, the CBD interacts with cannabinoid receptors responsible for the nerve pain and inflammation that come with headaches and migraines.

Look out for CBD in beauty products and give them a try. The beauty world is exploring this natural oil derived from cannabis and it only makes sense with all the benefits. I’m loving all the products I’ve been trying. I think CBD is going to become an ingredient that becomes popular in beauty.
