Roll With It

It’s 10 am on a Saturday morning and it’s raining in LA. As I lay in bed, scrolling through Instagram, this may be as far as I’m going to go today. I’m not ready to get up and I’m okay with it. I can continue to scroll through my feed out of habit, but then I remember my jade roller on my night stand. I grab it and begin gliding the cool stone along my face. Did I mention it’s Oscar weekend and because I don’t have a hair and makeup team to get me ready for the parties this jade roller is the only assistance I’ve got. And as far as I’m concerned “Jade” is the only prep a girl needs.

Rolling this tool gently along the face drains fluid, improves elasticity, increases blood flow, and promotes cell turnover for a brighter complexion. Yup. It does all the things. The

blood flow is stimulated creating an immediate glow, helping to brighten and even out skin tone.

Start at the jawline and gently press outward for lymph drainage. Press upward to stimulate and relax the muscles in a lifting movement. Remove puffiness or dark circles placing roller close to nose out to lymphs. This increases blood flow.

I get out of bed, still with the jade roller in hand. I am ready to hydrate my face. I apply serum to my face and dip the roller in warm water. As I begin gliding, I help my skin to better absorb the serum. When using the roller I only go outward or upward. Rolling in pulls on the skin.

If I happen to have too much wine tonight, tomorrow morning I plan to glide the roller upward along my forehead to release tension so I can go out and do it all over again. It’s Oscar weekend so let a girl live.
