Becca Hiller, Model
I remember during winter every morning my sister and I had to apply this cream to our faces which was basically 98% sheep fat to protect us from the cold when walking to school.

I grew up in a small town named Kolsås, which like most of Norway is a valley surrounded by mountains. I’m from a big family. Myself and my sister and our cousins would spend a lot of our childhood on the family farm where our grandmother lived. I’m very grateful that I got to grow up in Norway. It has the most beautiful nature, fresh air, clean water and delicious food. Besides school, I would spend most of my time with friends, reading, horseback riding and playing the flute. I started taking cross- country and slalom lessons from the age of five, as winter sports is a very important skill and tradition in Scandinavian culture.
I only started getting interested in skin and hair care when I left home to do modeling and was on my own. Until then my mother would take care of my skin by making sure it was protected during summer and sometimes brutal winters. I remember during winter every morning my sister and I had to apply this cream to our faces which was basically 98% sheep fat to protect us from the cold when walking to school.
Since it’s summertime I’m using Klorane Sun Radiance Shampoo and Conditioner. It nourishes and protects the hair from UV rays, and cleanses the hair and scalp for salt, sand and sunscreen. I try not to wash my hair with shampoo everyday, so if I’m not working I’ll just rinse it in water after my workout. I have really fine hair so I use Philip Kingsley children’s hairbrush.
SPF & Exfoliate
My mother taught me the importance of always using sunscreen. She would never let my sister and I be out in the sun without it. I think that’s one of the main reasons why my skin is so good now, and I’ll always be grateful to her for that. My grandmother was a farmer from Finland and she had the most amazing soft skin. Her secret was to weekly have a bath and exfoliate her body and face until the skin was pink. Afterwards she would apply lots of moisturizer. So ever since I moved away from home, I’ll do her bath and exfoliation ritual every Sunday.
Skin I'm In
I used to be insecure about my looks when I was a teenager, especially my height. Modeling gave me a lot of confidence because you learn that what you thought of as flaws, is what makes you unique. I feel the most beautiful when I’m well rested and hydrated with sunkissed skin and sunbleached hair.
Just having good basic hygiene is more important to me than worrying about the occasional blemish or not always having perfectly shaved legs. I care about my appearance in the sense that I do my best to keep my body, skin, nails and hair healthy, which is something that I achieve through eating healthily, exercise/sports and using the right hair and skin care products for me.
In the morning I wash my face with Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. Since I live in endless summer Los Angeles, I make sure to use sunscreen on my face everyday to protect my skin. I like Glossier Invisible Shield Sunscreen since it’s clear and absorbs quickly. Once it’s absorbed I’ll apply Glossier Super Glow Serum and La Mer soft cream.
I don’t usually wear make up- especially not in the daytime, so I focus more on my skincare routine to keep my skin as healthy and happy as possible. I use Glossier Boybrow in clear to make my brows look nice and thick. Then I curl my lashes. It’s one of the first beauty tips I learned early on in my career. It makes your lashes look longer and your eyes bigger. Lastly I apply lip balm, (I can’t stand chapped lips) one of my favorites is Sugar Dream Lip Balm Sheer Pink by Fresh.
If I’m traveling a lot my skin tends to break out more caused by lack of sleep, stress and dehydration. So as soon as I get back home to LA I’ll go and see my facialist Jamie and she’ll sort my skin out straight away.
For my hair I use a few drops of the Leonor Greyl Huile Secret de Beauté on my ends when my hair is damp. I always let my hair air dry on my days off, and usually I sport a French braid. If I want it to look more styled I’ll blow dry it with a round brush for some volume and waves.
In the evening I’ll cleanse my face again and after I apply Drunk Elephant Framboise Glycolic Night serum. It reduces fine lines, evens out skin texture and skin tone, and it’s also good for treating small blemishes. You can only use it for a week at time so in between I’ll use Sisley Black Rose precious face oil which nourishes your skin and makes it super soft and supple.
For going out I’ll usually go for a natural sunkissed look, or if I’m feeling cheeky - cat eye and red lips. For the eyes I like Glossier Lidstar in Fawn and Moon, and Chanel Le Volume Noir Mascara. On my cheeks I use Tom Ford Sheer Cheeks Duo in Paradise Lust, and contour and highlight my face with Tom Ford Highlighting Duo Reflects Gilt. I’ll use YSL Touche Éclat if I have any blemishes.
For the moment I’m using Glossier Super Glow Serum. The main ingredient is Vitamin C which brightens and evens out your skin tone for a smoother light - reflective complexion. Mario Badescu drying lotion is the best blemishes. I use Weleda skin food cream on my hands and feet to keep them soft.
